Hair Replacement Pieces Require Tapes, Adhesives But Which Products Are Right For You?
With so many hair replacement attachments on the market today choosing the product that best suits you can often times be difficult and choosing the right hair replacement tape adhesive products can be just as hard. Many men find the endless choices overwhelming and have a harder time picking the right attachment products than they did choosing the actual toupee. The hair loss center where you purchase your hair piece will usually sell attachment products and can assist you in picking one, but not all centers carry all the products available and ultimately the choice is up to you.
The most common method for attaching your hair replacement are tapes and adhesives. They are applied to the underside of the toupee and have glue of both sides to keep the hair piece stuck to your scalp. Adhesives are very affordable, quick, and simple. However, many men do not like using tapes because they may leave a sticky residue on the scalp and toupee. Also, tapes may come unglued when the hairpiece gets wet.
Another common method for attaching you hair replacement is through the use of clips. Metal clips, similar to a barrette, are attached to the underside of the toupee and are fastened to your natural hair. Clips are simple to use and require no glue. However, many men complain that they do not feel as secure using the clips as they do using the adhesives and often worry that the piece may come un-clipped during rigorous activity causing the hair piece to fall out.
Snaps are another method of hair replacement attachments that are used less frequently. Snaps are tied or sewn to your natural hair by a hair technician. Snaps fasten the toupee securely. A downfall to using snaps is that the skills of an experienced hair technician are required in the removal of the toupee which will be necessary as your natural hair grows. Another con to using snaps is that they do not allow you to cleanse your scalp as regularly as some men would
like.
All hair replacement attachment products have pros and cons. The one that is best for you depends entirely on your needs. What may be the right choice for one man may not be the right choice for you. In the end, the best way to choose a product is to try them all to find the one you like best.
