A Short Review of Upcoming Treatments for Hair Loss

As many balding men and women already realize, there are a myriad of upcoming treatments for hair loss on the market today that make various claims to aid in the re-growth of hair, or to stop hair loss. Although there are many out there that do not survive the light of scrutiny, there are a few upcoming treatments for Hair Loss that just might survive the test of time and find favor in consumer eyes. Below is a short review of a few of the more promising ones.

Product # 1 Folligen

This upcoming treatment for hair loss is a non-drug product that has its beginning as a skin repair cream that was tested in the Dermatology Department at the University of California at San Francisco. One day a 41 year old woman with severe hair loss tried one of the skin repair creams on her scalp and re-grew her lost hair in an amazing two and one half months. With this discovery the company decided to offer the product as a hair treatment. Skin Biology, the manufacturers of this upcoming hair loss treatment has also introduced other products with
the same ingredient composition and the same Copper peptide technology.

Research on skin and hair follicle renewal indicates that optimal regeneration is obtained only when there are multiple signals for renewal. This upcoming hair loss product accomplishes just that by having a copper ion plus a mixture of different peptides that are usually generated after a hair follicle has been damaged. This combination convinces the hair follicle that the hair was damaged and needs to be replaced, therefore growing more hair.

Product # 2 Nioxin

This upcoming hair loss treatment is a full system of cleansers, conditioners, treatments and styling products designed for people with fine and thin-looking hair. This product claims to improve the integrity of all hair by cleaning, detoxifying and removing build-up on the scalp and opening the nutrient pathways. In addition, Nioxin Treatments also claim to restore moisture balance to the scalp, which may increase cellular activity, giving hair a great environment to grow in. Although this upcoming hair loss treatment doesn't seem to have much of an affect on hormonal imbalances such as an excessive amounts of DHT, it does appear to slow
hair loss by improving the overall condition of the hair and scalp.

Product #3 Reviogen

This upcoming hair loss product is a topical DHT inhibitor made from natural ingredients such as Saw Palmetto and Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA). It is normally used to treat Androgenic Alopecia, and appears safe to use on both men and women.

The natural compounds contained within this upcoming hair loss product are proven to be potent inhibitors of the 5-Alpha-Reductase, the enzyme that produces DHT. Some of the other ingredients included in this product are Vitamin B6, Zinc, azaleic acid, and alpha linolenic acid. All these, along with Saw Palmetto and GLA has been shown through countless studies to help stop hair loss on both men and women to varying degrees.

Since Reviogen is relatively new product on the market, this upcoming hair loss treatment has not undergone the same investigative scrutiny by 2006 that some others might have. However, the majority of the individual ingredients have been tested time and time again by a number of independent researchers, showing their affect on the DHT hormone.

As you probably already know, there is ongoing research into treating hair loss in both men and women. It is a business that shows no sign of stopping any time soon, and these upcoming hair loss treatments are just a few of the products that might just stand the test of time.
